Inmthis week of science I learned about ICS or the incident command system. When part of the incident command system you will need a unity of command so you know who is in charge when there are groups of people from all over the country or sometimes world to help. You must know how to understand common terminology like code words and such. When out in a search and rescue environment you must wear appropriate clothes for the weather. So if it is cold and wet you don’t want to wear cotton because it absorbs moisture and will freeze in the cold. If you’re wearing wool and it gets wet it will trap hot air bubbles keeping you warm but it’s not good in the wind. When wearing synthetic material they are more water resistant and will dry up easily. Lastly you will want a first aid kit.
