Lesson 175 of science

In this week of science we learned about cutting wood with a knife and axe. When cutting with a knife you want to cut radial cuts and along the fractures. If a knife gets stuck, pound a wedge into the split to open it. When cutting wood with a hand axe, always sit on your chins because if you are standing and you miss it could swing and hit your leg. Alway cut the outer edges of the wood before the middle. Use a safety log. It is best to use a single bidding axe because when cutting something it could bounce back and hit you head.
